Montville, NJ - January 2005
This custom tile and stucco heater is the
center piece of a Great Room in stately new residence in Montville, New
Jersey. Like many heaters of this style, the firebox door is located in a
mud room on the other side of the partition wall. Such designs are often
preferred by owners who want to maintain a meticulously clean environment in
their sitting / living rooms or who want to keep children and pets away from
hot firebox doors. This unit has a heating capacity and efficiency of 5.1 kW
(17,406 BTUh) and 81%, respectively. The heater will consume about 40 lbs of
cordwood every 12 hours to achieve this rating.

Torrington, CT - June 2004
Sun Spot built this two-room masonry heater in
Torrington Connecticut during June 2004. In this largest and most elaborate
unit we have built to date, the flue gases pass from the firebox (with glass
door) through the left wing and into the backrest of the heater in an
adjacent room. A portion of the bench is heated via radiant tubing connected
as a zone to the home's central boiler. The heating capacity is
approximately 9.4 kW (32,082 BTUh) burning cord wood at the rate of 45-50
lbs every 10 hours. The heater's efficiency is calculated at approximately
80%.

Allentown, PA - August 2004
Built in August 2004, this Chippendale style
tile heater will adorn the living room of a stately home in Allentown
Pennsylvania. This heater required 140 tiles to complete with those forming
the arch made custom to the desired radius. The heating capacity and
efficiency are calculated at 4.6 kW (15,700 BTUh) and 82%, respectively. The
heater will consume about 30 lbs of cordwood every 12 hours to achieve these
ratings.
